Hi, Thanks for coming to my web site and taking the time to read a bit about me! I'm the son of a former Navy pilot who went on to fly for Northwest Airlines. I was raised on Whidbey Island and i have a younger sister and brother. As a kid I enjoyed playing on the beach a short distance from my house. I also enjoyed the woods and fields that are largely gone now. I grew up learning to fish and hunt with my father. My mother was and still is an awesome cook so I learned to enjoy good food! Both my parents worked hard to raise me well. One of the most important experiences my parents provided for me was the chance to go to college. I was the only one of their children to make it through and they are especially proud of my accomplishment. You see, I had a little rebelliousness in me as a youth and didn't think I wanted to continue school after high school. But I am so very thankful that I did! I attended Central Washington University the first year and really did poorly. I wasn't responsible and my grades showed it. The next year I attended Pacific Lutheran University and I began the long uphill road of really growing up. At PLU I began to see a vision of myself as a capable student and a young man with a purpose in life. It was through the youth group that held their weekly meetings in my dorm that I found out God had a plan to use me in the lives of troubled students. But first I needed to get straightened out myself. In the end I went on to earn a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology. The education I received and the support given to me by friends and family have made it possible for me to have the career as a school counselor. Now I have a family of my own. I have a beautiful wife, Laura and three children, Grant, Kelly, and Dale. We have several pets, including a gecko and fish. We camp often and all of us like to go hunting and fishing. I am active in Cub Scouting as Pack Three's Cub Master. Grant went through cub scouts and Dale has been in it five years. I am a firearms safety instructor for Washington and have twenty years experience. I am also a former Sunday School teacher. I've been a counselor for 21 years and have been here at Pioneer for 15 years. It's a great place to work!! |
