Core consists of three subjects: Reading/Literature, Writing/Language Arts and Social Studies. 

    Reading and writing are taught using SpringBoard, which is a College Board approved curriculum that provides rigor, relevance and daily opportunities for critical thinking.  Our goal is that all students should be able to pursue Advanced Placement classes in high school and have a wide variety of choices for their futures.  The potential in seventh graders is amazing!!

    Social Studies consists of the study of ancient cultures.  Key concepts have to do with how geography impacts the development of cultures; how governments develop and control citizens; economies; beliefs and the social interactions of people throughout different civilizations.  An emphasis is placed on research, writing, and an application of knowledge to current situations/times.
