Native Thunder!

You and the other members of your tribe have been invited to the first annual Native Thunder! Conference sponsored by the Western Hemisphere Association of Native Peoples (WHANP).

This is the first ever gathering of tribes from North, Central, and South America. You will have the opportunity to showcase your tribal culture and history. There will be banner, song, storytelling, and presentation competitions.

Since you know your tribe is special, all you need to do is demonstrate it to the rest of the world!

You will work in the library gathering information about your tribe at six different stations. You will be using books and videos from the library collection, but you will also be using resources from Internet. When you are at stations 3 and 5 you will use the Internet and the sites listed below.

Station 3: After you have finished coloring the map of the location of the 13 major native peoples groups in the Western Hemisphere, go to the World Sites Atlas. Fill in the names of all the countries in North, Central, and South America where the 13 major native peoples groups were found.
