Pioneer Middle School has implemented "Make Your Day," a citizenship program designed to teach students to take responsibility for the choices they make at school. The emphasis of the program is to demonstrate the cause and effect relationship that exists between students' choices and positive or negative consequences. We believe that as students learn to take responsibility for their actions they will become more successful at school, resulting in an improved building climate.

Our program is based on the beliefs that:

  • No one has the right to interfere with the learning, safety, or the well bieng of others.
  • All students will do what is expected and do it the best they can.

All students will be given:

  • The opportunity to learn in a positive, caring atmosphere *The opportunity to make choices.
  • The opportunity to evaluate and self-correct *The opportunity to make their day.

Foundation:

  • All students are capable of success.
  • We believe that opportunities for student success is enhanced when parents are directly involved in their students' behavior and academic process.

Making appropriate choices at school, coupled with open communication between home and school, will generate student success.

For more information about the program refer to the Official Make Your Day Website.
